Southern Flinders Ranges
Tourism Update

Fabulous to see so many visitors out and about in our region over the last few weeks. And how good has the weather been? Though rain now would be appreciated.

Thanks to the support of the Adelaide Business Hub and the Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council, I'd love you to SAVE THE DATE for a Tourism Experience Development Forum to be held on Tuesday 5 July 2022 at the Clare Town Hall. Though being held in the Clare Valley, this event is open to tourism operators in the Southern Flinders Ranges. More details below.

The SATC will be bringing an ATDW workshop to the region, to be held at Jacka Brothers Brewery on Thursday 2 June 2022. There is a bit more information below and I will send through the booking link as soon as it is available. It is so important that all your products and events are listed and up to date.

Save the Date as well for the 2022 South Australian Tourism Conference - The Art of Tourism - to be held on Tuesday 31 May 2022, at the Adelaide Festival Centre. The link to the program and registrations is included below.

In news that has been welcomed by South Australian businesses experiencing staff shortages, the state’s close contact rules will ease later this week.

The additional move toward national consistency comes as we launch a new campaign to entice working holiday makers in the United Kingdom and Ireland to ‘work and play’ in SA, helping plug employment gaps and skills shortages in tourism, hospitality and primary industries.

With 200 return flights for just £10, the SATC campaign spruiks the benefits of a working holiday to the backpacker market – worth $47 million to our state prior to the pandemic.

The changes to close contact rules in SA will come into effect this weekend. Premier Peter Malinauskas made the announcement late last week, following a meeting of the Emergency Management Council.

Ever wanted to learn how to increase your share of voice across tourism websites such as southaustralia.com?

The South Australian Tourism Commission is coming to the Southern Flinders Ranges to host an ATDW Information Session to help with just this!

Best of all? It is driving clicks direct to your website - commission free.

The information session will be held on Thursday 2 June 2022, 9.30am - 12.00pm at Jacka Brothers Brewery. This session is available at no cost to operators and will provide the opportunity to learn more about how you can optimise your ATDW listings, leverage the platform for your digital promotion and increase your presence on websites such as southaustralia.com.
